I really like when sites in my bookmark list display an icon, it’s stylish and really helps find out more quickly what I’m looking for.

So i did the same with my website.

In fact it’s really simple to display your web site logo on the address bar and in the favorites list.

Step one: think of a simple logo, it will be really tiny (16×16 pixels) so forget about pictures and detailed illustrations.

Step two: download and install IconBuilder to convert your logo into a .ico Windows Icon File. You can easily find this Photoshop plugin on VersionTracker.

Step three: follow the IconBuilder tutorial and create the 16×16 .ico file with your logo and rename it “favicon.ico”

Step four: upload the favicon.ico on the root folder of your website.
