The Story Beyond the Still – Canon Contest – Job Security by Runner Runner

This is the winner video of the Canon contest “The Story Beyond the Still“.

I really liked the concept when I first read about this contest on Vimeo. Every picture has a story beyond it and this is a great way to explore the idea behind a shot. This video is also another great example of photographers crossing the boundaries between pictures and movies.

It’s the first ever user-generated HD Video Contest where photographers become filmmakers, and we all see beyond the still. Last month the contest kicked off when Canon asked photographer, Vincent Laforet, to interpret a still by telling the story that lived beyond it using the Canon EOS 7D. It was the first chapter of seven, ending with a still photograph of its own for the Vimeo community to then interpret. After 112 entries, Josh Thacker was chosen as the very first winner and now, once again the question is posed to you, what do you see beyond this still?

NOPOSER2009 – The Revenge of the Nerds

Sveglia alle sei, magari sabato sarebbe stato meglio andare a letto presto… Si raggiungono gli amici e via. In quattro nella macchinina con un francese al volante che vale per due: Motta Visconti stiamo arrivando! Non ci rallenta neanche il nebbione spesso spesso e alle dieci siamo sul trail. Salutiamo i primi rider che hanno dormito sul tetto della macchina per scappare dall’umido e si inizia a girare/scattrare.

Trail molto bello, un lavoro spaziale degli organizzatori per creare delle piccole collinette alte come Superga.

Divertente l’aneddoto del vecchietto che raggiunge Luca il pazzo al microfono e gli chiede di abbassare la musica perché loro devono giocare a calcio… In Italia giocano a calcio tutti i sabati giorni e per una volta che c’è un contest di bici dovete pure venire a lamentarvi? Ovviamente abbiamo alzato il volume e fatto più casino possibile!!!

NOPOSER2009 – The Revenge of the Nerds

Il Contest Dirt BMX e Mountain Bike si svolgerà al rinato trail, Hellevator, in quel di Motta Visconti presso il Centro Polisportivo sito in Via Ticino.

La nuova edizione segue la prima e fortunata gara svoltasi nel 2007 con la novità che da quest’anno, nello stesso giorno, avremo sia il contest dirt Mountain Bike che quello dedicato alle BMX. Come vuole il motto: “two (contest) are better than one”!!!

Abbiamo voluto esagerare costruendo il trail più grande d’Italia: Una pro-line con 5 salti che si raccordano su una middle-line con 4 salti. Il contest si svolgerà su entrambi le linee e sarà ogni singolo rider che deciderà da quale partire e non è detto che la vittoria non possa andare a chi ha scelto la linea più piccola!”
