Preparation day for Kilimanjaro Lemosho ascent

The backpack is ready. The hand luggage is filled up with guides, maps, my Canon EOS 7D, my super Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM and the lightweight Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. My Gepe CardSafe Extreme (and my 7D too!) will be put on real life test at Kilimanjaro’s summit nearly 6,000 meters above sea level with temperatures low as -20 Celsius.

With nearly 40Gb of memory cards I have room for about 1300 RAW shots. Let’s do a funny game, can you find the cheap Cf card in the picture above? I’t simply incredible how slow that card is. The buffer of my 7D flashes for about 5 seconds to record a single image…

I’m leaving tomorrow morning to reach Nairobi via Amsterdam. There I will catch up with my trekking partner and together we will reach Moshi in Tanzania.

I’ve set up here on my blog some automated scheduled post. This way you’ll be able to virtually follow day by day my steps on the ascent of Kilimanjaro via the scenic Lemosho route.

Pictures and notes of the trip will be added after my return home (beginning of October).
